Presented by www.pedigreedogs.co.uk, Cyber Show 2001 was held over the weekend (March 10 & 11), as an online alternative to the postponed Crufts. After all the classes and groups were judged, through online voting by members of the public, Peter Purves judged the Best in Show.
"What a delightful task seven very different and lovely animals," Peter commented as he began his difficult task late on Sunday evening.
He finally decided on Winpara Cosmic Soul, a border collie owned by Mr R Stockdale: "The collie came through against the largest number of entries in its breed, and is a gem. The GSP bitch ran it a very close second. It is a pleasure to judge something of such quality, and I have been flattered to be asked. I hope my choices meet with general approval."
Over 500 entries were received for the show if the dogs entering the 'real' Crufts are anywhere near as good, it should be a tough contest!
